Hi,

I'm writing a manual for my users with some introduction to the server part of Valentina Studio. Therefore, I'm looking into some nooks and crannies that I haven't noticed before.

1. Server Admin/Databases: when I do an unregister and then a register with the same database, why do I get the error message "database doesn't exist?

2. Server Admin/Logs: what do entries like "field xxx registered" or "field xxx unregistered" mean?

3. Server Admin/Properties/Logging: please change the default to "only error messages". Additional debug messages are only useful when doing deep debugging. And I don't think that the selection is sticky. Seems to revert to "Additional debug messages" every time I open this screen.

4. Server Admin/Properties: what is the relationship between the option "Flush each data change" and the flush method of the ADK?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen/Regards

Hi Beatrix,

1. I've just checked and it worked for me. Is the server on OS X?
Is error reproducible even for a new database in sequence: Create Database->Unregister->Register

2. Object is registered for use by the remote client.

3. Yes, something is wrong with mode selection in the Server Admin. It works correctly in the Property Inspector.

4.
Here's a description of this property:
FlushEachDataChanges

Specifies the need of immediate flushing after each database changes. Use this feature only for debugging purpose. Do not build logic of your code on it, i.e. your code should self fix changes, when this is required.

So in production the Flush method should be used.

Hi beatrix,

1) Perhaps there is a problem with the path or name of the db. What are they ?
Could you additionnaly take a look at the values stored in the master.db ?

The bug is reproducible on both of my computers. The path of the database is "/Library/VServer_x64/databases/mailarchive.vdb". Just tried again: same problem.

Thank you, the Server Admin can't register databases with extension (it is also possible to do from the Schema Editor).
Fixed.
