Preferences Dialog - Allowed Locations Help

Valentina Studio, downloaded from the Mac App Store, is a sandboxed application, so access to files and folders without special user permission is limited.

On this page, you can define locations, allowed to store your working files: projects, databases, SSH private keys.

Without adding a directory to this list, each database you open is accessible until the application restart.

By default, the local database engines create a rollback journal near to the database file. You must add the folder containing the database file to the list of allowed locations for this process to succeed. Without it, attempt to edit the database file can be rejected.

Preferences Dialog - Allowed Locations

  • Add Location… – Define a new location, where you grant permissions to read and write files.
  • Delete – Delete selected location from the list, if there is no need to access files in it.
