Record Menu Help

The “Record” menu allows you to modify records in the Data Editor. This menu is enabled only if a Data Editor is active.

  • New Record - Creates a new record and move cursor into the first field of that new record so you can start type.
  • New Related Record - Creates a new record in the related Table and move cursor into the first field of that new record so you can start type.
  • Delete Marked Records - Deletes all marked records in this table.
  • Delete All Records… - Deletes all records in this table.
  • Mark All Records - Marks all records in this table.
  • Unmark All Records - Unmarks all records in this table.
  • Show All Records - Shows all records in this table.
  • Show Marked Only - Shows only the marked records in this table.
  • Hide Marked Records - Hides all marked records in this table.
  • Set Value to NULL - Sets the value of the current cell to NULL. If there is no current cell then this item is disabled.
  • Select Related Records - Selects the related records.

Filter Sub-menu

  • Filter - This submenu contains commands to work with filters on records.
    • Add Filter Row - Adds one more FILTER row (green color) on the top of Table Editor. You can add few FILTER rows. If exists at least one FILTER row then WHERE row becomes disabled.
    • Add 'Where' Row - Adds a single WHERE row on the top of Table Editor. If exists WHERE row then FILTER row becomes disabled.
    • Remove Filter - Removes all FILTER/WHERE rows. This forces also all records to be shown.
    • Apply Filter - Applies conditions of the filter to select and show subset of records in the Table.
    • Show All Records - Shows all records again, but do not destroys the current filter rows.


Interface Options Sub-menu

NOTE: This menu works only for Valentina Database.

  • Interface Options - This allows you to define some additional view options for the Data Editor. The following options may be switched on or off.
    • Show RecID - Shows the RecID of each record as the first column of grid.
    • Show OID - Shows the OID of each record the first or the second column of grid.
    • Show Methods - Shows calculated fields of table.
    • Show Blank Record - Shows a blank row at bottom, like do MS Access.
