Valentina for Ruby - Installation on Linux

The installation procedure of “Valentina for Ruby” module is as easy as the following:

Download and Install

  • Download the Valentina for RUBY for Linux archive.
  • unpack the archive into some temp folder and run install.sh. It installs the following items onto the computer - if these directories do not already exist, the installer creates them:

/usr/local/lib/vcomponents

Enabling Valentina for Ruby

copy Valentina.so file into the folder where should be all Ruby externals.

    cp Valentina.so   /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/i686-linux/Valentina.so

Now you are able to use Valentina in the Ruby programs, but not yet in Ruby on Rails.

Enabling Valentina for Ruby on Rails

Copy “valentina_adapter.rb” into the following location:

/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/activerecord-2.0.2/lib/active_record/connection_adapters

Now you are able use Valentina in your Ruby On Rails applications.
