Brand new user here, hoping I'm just doing something dumb. Using Valentina Studio 7.2 on MacOS 10.11.6 to connect to MS SQL Server 2014. Trying to do a very simple report on a table that contains (among other fields) a DATETIME field and a DATE field.

The DATE field formats correctly on the report, but the DATETIME field shows garbage like "00/19/-2240 00:00:00:000" for a default format, and "12/19/42 12:00 AM" for DateShort formats.

What am I doing wrong? Is there some other setting I need to adjust for DATETIME fields?

Thanks!

This is an awesome reason to use VDB instead of MSSQL (Sorry, couldn't resist...)

My team had a similar problem with MSSQL and eventually had to change the datatype to a time stamp using epoch time in seconds. Then we just formatted the result via format function.

FORMAT(datefield, 'YYYY-MM-dd hh:mm:ss', 'kDateFormat_Pattern')....

Worked after that.

Thank you, I'll do that workaround for now.

Hello Chuck,

I can see the same issue, so most probably we have to fix it.
As a workaround, you can convert DATETIME field to string in your query (if you need to get this report right now).
