Report Editor - ToolBar - Common

Mode

This group presents on all tabs of the report toolbar. It allows you to switch between preview and editor modes.

Note, that you can use keyboard shortcuts cmd+1 and cmd+2 to switch between Editor/Preview modes correspondently.

Edit

This group contains the set of commands to edit report: cut, copy, paste; undo, redo.

Background

This group allows you to define the back color of a selected control, or a selected region or the whole report.

You will see back color on a control, only if checkbox “Transparent” is disabled. In this case, you can also assign percent of transparency for that control.

The “Transparent” checkbox is available for controls only, but not for report regions.

Font

This group provides a set of commands, which is standard for most text editors.

You can select font, its size and style. You can specify the vertical and horizontal alignment of text in the control and line spacing.

Borders

This group allows you to specify parameters of the border around a control.

You can specify the thickness of the border line, its color and style (solid, dash, dot, …). You can easy specify at which side(s) of the control the border should exist.

Size

This group contains commands to help you tune your controls fast and accurate.

  • Apply the best height - applies the best width for a control.
  • Apply the best width - applies the best width for a control.
  • Apply the best size - applies the best size for both height and width for a control.

Layout

This group contains commands to modify the layout of controls.

You can do for a select control:

  • Send Back – to make it lowest on Z axe.
  • Send Backward – to move it down on one control by Z axe.
  • Bring Backward – to move it up on one control by Z axe.
  • Bring To Front – to make it top on Z axe.

If you have few objects selected then you can do:

  • Group - to group them into a single object for future use. Around the group is drawn blue dash rectangle.

 * Ungroup - to break grouped objects into a separate state.

Style

Here you can define condition style of a selected control.

Click the button to open the dialog where you can define up to five conditions and specify the style of text if that condition becomes true. For example, you can define BOLD RED text in case of negative summary in the balance of the company.

Types of conditions:

  • Condition – boolean SQL or JavaScript expression. SQL expression is evaluated by the datasource, JavaScript is evaluated by embedded V8 JavaScript engine. Expression is edited using the same editor as the Expression Field.
  • Even Row – the style is applied to even rows
  • Odd Row – the style is applied to odd rows
  • Less Than – the style is applied if the value of the control is less than specified
  • Equal To – the style is applied if the value of the control is equal to the specified
  • Greater Than – the style is applied if the value of the control is greater than specified
