Yes. For this, you should specify different ports in the ini file of each VServer.

You can get the version of your Valentina Server using several methods:

• Choose connection to your VServer in Valentina Studio. In the inspector on the right side you will find Version.
• Open log file. In the first lines, you will find info about the version.
• Execute command “SHOW PROPERTIES OF SERVER” against your VServer.

No, Valentina Server is a self-contained application and doesn't need a webserver.

But if you, for example, use Valentina for PHP extension to build web pages you need to install Apache (or any other webserver).

VServer disconnects an idle client on timeout. You can increase the timeout in the .ini file of VServer or set it infinite.

Just set in the .ini file of VServer the MaxClientTimeout to be -1.

You should drop it into your VServer/licenses folder. Read the details here. Please remember, that you should restart VServer to make it use new license file.

When VServer starts, it logs this information into .log file. So just open the log file to see that info. Note, that on OS X and Linux you can open log for reading even while VServer runs.

Valentina Server installer starts VServer without a license file, right. You can see empty folder “licenses”. In this mode, VServer works with 1 connection only. Such a solution allows getting working VServer right after install. But you should of course add as soon as possible:

• a free license file with 5 connections
• a commercial license file with more connections.

sa/sa (This means Sys Admin)

533761 code means “Connection limit reached.”

Often this happens when the user runs VServer without any license file. So VServer works with 1 connection enabled only. Or you have tried to establish the 6th connection, while you have the license only for 5 connections.

1) Go to “Control Panel”→“System and Security”→“Windows Firewall” 2) Click “Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall” 3) Click “Change settings” button 4) Click “Allow another app” button 5) Click “Browse…” and select “c:\Program Files\Paradigma Software\VServer x64\VServer_x64.exe” (or 32-bit equivalent) 6) Click “Add”

Sometimes you may see error messages in the vServer log and you want to investigate what app is an initiator of that errors. The only thing you know from the vServer log is UID (User ID).

First of all, you have to find out additional info for that connection (UID) to get it's IP and port.

There are two possible ways:

• searching in the log to find a “connection established” row for that UID (it would be client IP and port there);
• run “SHOW CONNECTIONS” SQL statement and see there. SELECT * FROM (show connections) WHERE fld_id = _uid_

Now we know IP and port.

Now, you should find PID (Process ID) on the client comp, which keeps that port open. Let it be port 50044.

• MacOS/Linux: lsof -i :50044
• Windows: netstat -a -n -o | find “50044”

Now you know the PID.

They are located in the folder VServer/vlogs. The location of the VServer folder depends on OS:

• Windows : /Program Files/Paradigma Software/VServer
• Mac OS X: /Library/VServer
• Linux : /opt/VServer

Yes you can, because they are not used by the current session of VServer. On each start, VServer creates a new log file.

On Mac OS X you can also use prefs panel “Valentina Servers” to trash log files.

masterdb is the place where Valentina Server keeps its information, such as:

• path and name of a registered database
• user name and password
• events

In general case NO, because masterdb contains full paths to registered databases, so on another computer they can not exist.

You can see them if execute before command “USE MASTER” in SQL Editor.

• On Windows you can check Task Manager.
• On MAC OS X you also can check Activity Monitor
• O Linux you can use top command in the terminal

• On Windows you should go to Services control panel for this.

• On MAC OS X you can:
  • use “Valentina Servers” preference panel.
  • enable helper AppleScripts for this (Read details).
  • Or execute the same terminal commands from these scripts.

You should do simple steps:

• Copy/move your Valentina database files (1-4 files) in the closed state into vserver/databases folder. VServer can be running.
• Register the new database in Valentina Studio using menu Server > Register Database, or with the REGISTER DATABASE SQL command.

It is not enough to drop the database into the folder “databases”. This won`t force working Valentina Server to start using it. Besides you assign to the database some name on the register, which can even differ from the name of the disk file. Database commands as “USE db_name” will use that exact name.

Let`s assume that you want to move database files from one server to another. Then you need to UNREGISTER database, so VServer will close it, and remove references to it from masterdb. Now you can take files from “databases” folder.

You should do simple steps:

• Drop existed database connections with

DROP CONNECTIONS OF DATABASE db1;

• Unregister database from vServer

UNREGISTER DATABASE db1;

• Copy your Valentina database files (1-4 files) in the closed state into vserver/databases folder. VServer can be running.
• Register the new database in Valentina Studio using menu Server > Register Database, or with the REGISTER DATABASE SQL command.

In case when you cannot drop DB files into VServer/databases folder (some WEB server), you have only one way via a load of an SQL dump, as most web-developers do this with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
