Hello, I installed the Free Version of Valentina Server on an Ubuntu 12.04.4 server, then I started it.

Until there all seems to be ok, i don't have any error messages, but I don't find the INI file nor the master DB which are supposed to be created after launching the server.

I tried to unistall and install again but it didn't change anything.

Am I missing something ? How can i know that the installation is complete or not ?

I used this command to install the server : sudo dpkg -i /home/vserver_x64_6_lin.deb, is it the good one ?

Regards.

That was a great idea ;)

First i got this message : /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.19' not found

Then i installed gcc 4.8, re-run sudo /opt/VServer/vserver, and all the folders/files appeared.

Thanks a lot !

Something is wrong.
I'll install Ubuntu 12.04 and recheck.

You can also try to run it manually:
sudo /opt/VServer/vserver

Maybe some error will be printed?

Hello Sergey, thanks for your answer. :)

I don't have any vlogs folder in /opt/VServer.
I tried to create one manually and to restart VServer but the folder is still empty.

I found this in the documentation :

"After installation, you can be interested in the following items of Valentina Server folder:

.ini file.
.log file.
folder “Databases”, where “MasterDb.vdb” database is located.
folder “Projects”, where Valentina Project file(s) is located.
folder “Licenses” where you may add/remove some license files."

None of these folders/files are present in my VServer folder.

Can they be located elsewhere ?
Or does it mean that the installation is not complete ?

Hello, Miquel

Right, VServer can be installed using dpkg.

It is installed into /opt/VServer.

Normally it starts automatically.

Start and stop can be done via service command, for example:
sudo service vserver start

At start a log file should be created in the folder
/opt/VServer/vlogs

That's what you should see in the log file, if installation was successful.
