I have a question related to VS Pro 9.1. I do not recall if this was the same behavior in previous versions but here it goes: I wan to create a form based on a view. Once the form is created, I want to designate a text field to be a "Filter and Apply" (so I can search the data). However, after executing the form and trying to type in a criteria, an error occurs. See attached screenshot.

Question: does "Filter and Apply" "Data Mode" method works only on tables?

Hello,

There is a semicolon at the end, so it can't be used as a subquery:
select * from utilities.v_expenditure;

Did you create a query for selecting data from the view?
When I set a view as a source - it generates a query without the semicolon, so filtering works.



Thanks Sergey. That was it (semi colon in a view I was pointing to). Question, is there a documentation somewhere that would show me how to set a sort field on the form? I can do majority with query pre-sorting but that adds to time. Having ability to "sort" filtered data would be much quicker.
