Hi,

I use Valentina Studio Pro 11.3.1 (64-bit). I would like to created a diagram for the schema and be able to print it so it's readable.

First problem, there is no way to specify paper size, only Pixel size.

I had Studio auto generate the diagram, that was fine. I evaluated that printing on Letter paper size would be fine. I rearranged the tables around and printed, that was way to small to read, font was 10 points. Even at 20 points it was still too small. I changed font to Arial, 36.

Second problem, at 36 points I can't make the table high enough and I get what is shown in the attached file. The table can't be made tall enough to adjust line height.

How may I easily edit the diagram to have usable tables that are large enough to read when printed ?

Thanks

One more question

Did you save the diagram to PDF at first?

Sorry about that. Can you remove the password please ?

I am using Valentina Studio Pro 11.3.1 (64-bit) on Windows 10 20H2 with latest patches.

The diagram was saved to a PDF before I increased the font pitch. Is there a comprehensive documentation about creating the diagram for a schema ?

Thanks

Hi Gilles,

well, we think you can try a fast workaround:
1) save to PDF
2) choose e.g. A1 format
3) set checkbox "crop whitespace"

With this, you should get PDF without a scale of fonts.
Then use any other tool to print PDF and split it into pages if needed.

Meanwhile our guys work on improving this area.
So some improvements should be soon in the nearest hotfix(es).

Thanks for the tips Ruslan,

I will try to create more than one diagram, with only part of the tables on each one, to simulate pages. One question though: what is the use of the Scene size ?

Hello Gilles,

The scene size was added to make big diagrams (width and height > 3000 px).

The resolution of the diagram on the screen is 101.6 ppi, so for Letter format the scene size should be ~860x1180 px. But in the current version, it can’t be set to values less than 3072x3072.

Igor has already made important changes to make printing diagrams easier:
- the size is set in millimeters
- the size can be automatically set by choosing desired paper format
- the diagram can have multiple horizontal and vertical pages (each one of the defined size). The resulting PDF contains multiple pages in this case.

Hi Sergey,

these changes will be great ! I solved my issue this way:

  • I created more than one diagram
  • On each one I inserted only some of the tables
  • And printed each one on Letter paper, either Portrait or Landscape

It worked fine.

What is the way for me to mark the question answered ?

Thanks,
