Hello!

My name is Max. I am from Inchpoint GmbH (Hannover, Germany - https://www.inchweb.de/)

We develop both Internet and desktop applications and have to use a lot of different technologies. For the Internet they are: pxp + Magento + MySQL + javascript + AngularJS
For Desktop: c++, qt, MySQL on Windows.
However, almost all of our desktop applications are single-user and we see MySQL as redundant. It leads to long startup times and requires unnecessary administration.
Therefore, we have been searching for a long time for a DBMS that would work as an embedded desktop, but if necessary could be deployed as a server without the need to migrate the applications to another DBMS.
We have recently started working on Golang and see the prospect of being able to do all of our development in one programming language.
We are a very small company and understand that with our meager financial resources this process will take a long time.
Nevertheless, taking all this into account and also analyzing your price proposals, we would like to know if you have any plans to create a ValentinaDB API for Golang.

I would be very grateful for your answer. You can also email me at ""

With best regards

Max

Hi Max,

we are open to discussing this, just notice that up to 14 Feb we are busy with the new Release 12.0
After that, I think we can start such development if all agree this is interesting.

Now I am reading your description, and we will ask questions I think.
I have made this post not private but public. (private does not see even our engineers)
Please let me know if this is ok or not ok.

Hi Max,

Okay, now it is clear that you consider the usage of Valentina DB in both scenarios
1) LOCAL ADK with embedded Valentina DB engine
2) Client to Valentina Server.

The first advice will be to use SQL way as the primary since can be a client-server.

Ok, so we have a possible task - develop "Valentina for GO" ADK,
in the first step as SQL -enough part,
then add our regular API maybe
then add support of VReports.

Thanks for the quick response. I am glad you are interested in this topic.
Public discussion is Ok.
By mid-February, we will try to get to know your system better in order to discuss our next steps further.
