Good evening,

After upgrading to 14.5, Valentina Studio (Free) doesn't start anymore. I'm running on Ubuntu 24.04.1. Tried to dongrade back to 14.1.4, but cannot find the .deb installer in the downloads page. Any help will he highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello Alejandro,

We’ll recheck it now.

The previous version is available here:

That's strange, can't reproduce it on my test system.

Could you please try to run 14.5 from the terminal to see what may be the cause of the problem? E.g.:

/opt/VStudio/vstudio

On some systems, it is necessary to add the following packages:

sudo apt install libxcb-cursor0 libxcb-keysyms1

I have the same problem. Did an update to 14.5 from 14.1 and appeared ok but then couldn't restart--just a blink at the cli and the prompt is back. Purged vstudio with synaptic. Downloaded the deb again. Same problem. Repeated and same problem. So, purged 14.5 and re-installed 14.1 and all is well.

Hello Don,

Have you tried running it from the terminal to see if there’s an error message?
Is it also on Ubuntu 24.04?

No, I did not try it from the cli. 14.1 works fine from the cli and the desktop

Same issue here on LMDE 6 (based on Debian 12). Running `/opt/VStudio/vstudio` gives the following:-
```
Warning: From 6.5.0, xcb-cursor0 or libxcb-cursor0 is needed to load the Qt xcb platform plugin. (:0, )
Info: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found. (:0, )
Fatal: This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
Available platform plugins are: minimalegl, wayland, offscreen, xcb, eglfs, wayland-egl, vkkhrdisplay, vnc, minimal, linuxfb.
(:0, )
Aborted (core dumped)
```

Installing libxcb-cursor0 (`sudo apt install libxcb-cursor0`) fixed the problem.

I believe this problem was addressed in 14.5.1 released this morning. Can you give it a try?
