解決済み Can not connect to MySQL database on the localhost

Hi all! I'm trying to connect to the existing MySQL database created with MAMP. Received the error message Error( 2013 ) HY000: "Lost connection to MySQL server at 'handshake: reading inital communication packet', system error: 60". The MySQL server is running on the localhost. It is the 5.1.44 MySQL with 10th cersion of protocol. Need suggestions.

Sorry, there was my fault: the port should have been 8889.
Now it's OK.

Do you specify host as “localhost” or “127.0.0.1”?

Yes: localhost:8888, as I usually connect from other clients.

Yes, localhost:8888, as I do from other clients.

Tried 127.0.0.1, but with the same result: Error 2013.
