Do you have only a hostname or also an instance name, like hostname\instance_name?
In the latter case, the port is not necessary.

Thank you very much for the response, but I don't have an instance name.
When I'm trying some improper instance name (I know connection will fail) I got an application error with port included in it,
but maybe with proper instance name might be a successful attempt, but for now, I can't verify it.
As I understand free and paid version of the application behave identically in this situation?

Yes, they behave the same.
And the port number is not standard 1433, right?

Probably not because I can't connect using the standard port, but who knows maybe I can get information about the proper port. Thanks.
