I had installed PostGreSQL13 Server on my Win 8.1
I successfully installed V Studio 11 along with Bonjour. When asked to register I had to interrupt. Within an hour I had obtained a free license and started VStudio but no GUI is showing up to let me enter the license. The TaskManager shows the PostGre, Bonjour and Valentina are running. I reinstalled Bonjour and Valentina but again no GUI...

So vstudio.exe process is running in the Task Manager but the application window is not shown, right?
What if you finish this process and start again?

Its the same. The process takes 2.7MB but now CPU usage.

That's unusual, so now it doesn't show a window at all, probably hangs on some early step.
Did you try to restart the system?

I tried restarting the computer. Postgre 13 and Bonjour are running. When starting Valentina Studio the GUI is not appearing but the task. Stopping the task and restarting Studio does not make any difference. A dump file of the task would exceed the max file size.

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce it on my Windows 8.1 64-bit for now.

The application stores settings in the system registry, so removing them should restore the initial working state

1. End vstudio.exe process
2. Use Regedit to remove the following branches
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ParadigmaSoft
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Paradigma Software, Inc.
3. Try to start again.

Actually, I don't have these two branches:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ParadigmaSoft
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Paradigma Software, Inc.

Your Valentina task takes much more memory than mine (2.7MB).

Yes, I've installed KIS, too, Valentina Studio is working fine so far.

That's strange the registry keys were not created. Usually, they are created during the first start.
What if you install an earlier version, will the result be the same?

In fact, this is the version I installed in order to be compatible with PostGre13.
What bewilders me, that there is no starting screen even after de- and reinstalling VS11.
The first time of installation, I broke off at the registration screen. This was the last time I saw the GUI.

So after installing an older version - nothing changed, right? At least to know it's not specific to one version.

Yes, it worked for the first time but didn't create the necessary registry keys. Maybe some permissions issue, I would try to create a test user account (maybe with admin rights) to install and run VStudio and see if it changes anything.

As for the diagnostics, the Process Explorer tool can be used.
After start it shows all running processes, vstudio.exe should be one of them.
By default, it doesn't show the bottom panel with DLLs or Handles.
Pressing Ctrl+D shows DLLs, Ctrl+H is used for handles.

If you save and attach the Process Explorer (File->Save As) data in these two modes we'll be able to identify the stage at which the application stopped loading.

Double-clicking the process shows extended information (TCP/IP networking, threading) but it can't be exported to a text file.

Thank you, it's clear something is preventing the plugins (both application and Qt framework) from loading at the runtime.

Could you please check the restrictions and rules for vstudio.exe in Kaspersky Internet Security?

I set Vstudio.exe as a trusted application in KIS to no avail.
But apart from this I would not know how to change settings. So far, I did not run into trouble with KIS
