So far the database for the AppStore version of my app was in Application Support where it's possible to create a file without having the user save it. I want to expand my AppStore version so that the user can save databases at any location.
When I now open a database there is no journal file created. Is the journal file created somewhere else? Can I tell Valentina where to create the journal file? Or is there just no journal file?

Hello Beatrix,
No, in this case, the journal is not created at all.
Yes, this database property exists in C++ ADK, we'll add it to V4RB (VDatabase.JournalFolder) in 13.5 (and probably other ADKs).
But it is necessary to avoid the following situation - two different databases must not have the same name and journal location (because the journal name is constructed as db_name+".journal"
Also, in Valentina Studio, we use Security Scoped Bookmarks. The user adds the necessary folders to the list of allowed locations in the preferences. It may be the folders with databases, projects or even whole partitions. After that, the application has full access to create the journal.
