Is there a way to show the filed position column in the column view table?
EXPLANATION OF QUESTION
Sorting fields in design tables seems to have different behavior depending on if you are viewing the field design table trough a tree view or a column view.
Both views allow you to sort by double clicking the name column header.
Tree View lets you modify shown properties in the table (right click the header) so you can turn on filed position. Once filed position is visible you can sort the fields based on their perspective field position in lieu of alphabetical order.
Column view field design table does not show filed position or allow filed position to be added to the column headers.

For other folks looking for answers to this situation
In column view field design table (aka schema editor in preferences) how do I unsort fields back to ordered by their filed position?
As Sergey Pashkov stated above you have to access unsort through the Edit >> preferences >> Schema Editors >> Sort Fields
This is cumbersome in my view ( and the customer is always right
). Maybe a button could be added to the design window or Shift double click to unsort, Just saying
