Hello,

I am a ISV and I am looking for a new database for my applications. My applications are devoped in Delphi and I am interested in Valentina-db. I cannot find sites in internet talking about stability and robustness of this database. There is not libraries for Delphi ( vcl components ), so I would like to convert the c header files of the api of VKernel, VReport and VClient to Delphi, but I do not know by where to start because I am not able to relation c headers with the dlls functions. It would be very useful to have a small sample in Delphi to start doing the conversion of c headers to Delphi.

Can Valentina work in multiuser mode ( several clients sharing same table in a network )?, or it is needed Valentina-db server for this purpose?.

Can anybody tell me how much maximum records are handled without problems in a table?.

Where are the limits of the tables ( maximum records per table ... etc )?.

How much stable and robust is valentina-db?.

Thank you.

Yes, vServer is required for multiuser access, but note, that API is absolutely the same for both cases (there are only few additional methods, like "init for vClient" and "connect to vServer";). Also, it is possible to have "mu" access in "local" mode but for read-only db only.

The current limits are:
MAX_UINT32 records.
MAX_UINT16 fields.

BTW, it is sort of "columnar" db, so fields count does not affect performance as much as for "linear-fields" structure.

You may try to use Valentina with REST API - no need to have any additional dlls.

Also, it might be helpful to use ValentinaStudio -

Hello,

No I cannot use REST API, I need to use the dlls because I need to have ISAM navigation in the table and that is not possible with REST API ( there is not move next, move prior, move first, move last, search xxx key ... etc ).

Thank you.

Hello Ivan,

I suppose that you are from support team of valentina-db, I have read the documentation, but, for opinions about stable and robust I would like to hear to other programmers that be using this tool for their products. Or if you have independent opinions testable about your product I would like to see them.

Thank you.
